Welcome to the sixth SING Aotearoa internship programme.  The Summer Internship for Indigenous Genomics is an initiative that emerged from the Te Waka o Tama-rereti project and is now funded by Genomics Aotearoa.

This internship was run over 5 days from Rāhina (Monday) 23rd to Rāmere (Friday) 27th of January.

Day 1:  Pōwhiri and introductions Genetics and Genomics, Te Mata Ira Cultural Foundations, EPA Mātauranga Māori.

Day 2:  Introductions to Gene editing, SING Australia Genetic counselling, Use of animal models to understand the role of genes and gene variants in disease.

Day 3:  Invosomics; Biosecurity Genomics, SING Australia Archaeogenomics, conservation ngahere hīkoi at Maungatautari.

Day 4:  Staging tachnologies and Indigenous biota, EPA E-DNA project, National Reference Library, Wai 262 (Tai 262), mātauranga Māori whakairo, SING USA keynot speaker

Day 5:   Whakarāpopotanga
